About Pacific Primary
For more than 40 years, Pacific Primary, a nonprofit early childhood program, has offered a model year-round preschool for a highly diverse group children (ages 2.5 – 6 years). Pacific Primary has two sites across the street from each other: the Orange Sun School serves 75 children and the Yellow Sun School serves 80 children.

Compensation and Benefits
We offer our staff competitive compensation and a generous benefits package that includes ample paid time off and health/dental insurance. After one year, employees are eligible to participate in our 401k plan.

Substitute Teachers (accepting applications)

Pacific Primary has a continuing need for substitute teachers who can work a full-day or part-day schedule. Our school is open from 7:30AM-6:30PM. 12 ECE units and prior experience as a teacher is preferred. Fingerprints and current TB rest and transcripts on file are required. Salary range is from $15-$18 per hour depending on experience. Our school features developmentally appropriate activities within a framework of emergent curriculum. We highly value helping children develop problem solving and conflict resolution skills.


 
Classroom Teacher (accepting applications)

• Minimum of 12 ECE units and/or BA in ECE or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of classroom experience working with 3-6 year olds.

All candidates should have the following:

• Knowledge of Emergent Curriculum and the Project Approach.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Enthusiastic team player and able to work with diverse groups.


Support Teacher (accepting applications)

• Minimum of 12 ECE units and/or BA in ECE or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of classroom experience working with 3-6 year olds.

Lead Teacher (accepting applications)

The Lead Teacher is responsible for the daily operation of a nurturing and developmentally appropriate program for approximately 20 children with the assistance of 3 teachers. The Lead Teacher plans and implements curriculum with the active participation of other staff members and offers guidance, training and support for staff. The Lead Teacher is also responsible for maintaining good communication and relationships with parents and all staff members.

Requirements:
• Minimum of 24 ECE units
• BA or MA in ECE preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of experience with preschool-aged children
• Knowledge of Emergent Curriculum and the Project Approach.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Enthusiastic team player and able to work with diverse groups.
